Black History is American and World  history and must be celebrated 365 days a year.

Welcome to Our Site

The Black History Committee of Orange County, Inc. has been in existence for over 21 years.  The Committee started as a group of Employees under the direction of Commissioner Mable Butler.

The vision of the Committee was to commemorate and celebrate Black History Month in Orange County, Florida.

In 2002, the BHCOC became an independent organization whose main purpose is to celebrate the achievements, inventions, and contributions that African Americans have made to Society, the United States of America, and the World.

Please see our mission statement, vision, goals, and benchmarks of support that the organization has provided to students, head start centers, clean drinking water for Haiti, and other non-profit organizations.

Approximately 10 to 15 dedicated volunteers from the community have been serving and planning events for Students, and the Community for the past 10 years or more.

The Black History Committee of Orange County, Inc. has been a 501c3 organization since 2006.
